The Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine SocietyThe Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine Society provides direction and leadership for the Boucher Institute. The Board of Governors ensures that the goals of the Boucher Institute are consistent and applicable for a naturopathic medical school. The Board consists of members from both within and outside the naturopathic profession. At least nine but not more than fifteen governors shall be appointed and ratified by the membership at an annual general meeting of the Society.

Tom Glew, ND, Chair
Dr. Tom Glew is a graduate of the National College of Naturopathic Medicine (1982). In the intervening years he worked in the field of fisheries research with the B.C. government. Since graduating from NCNM Glew has been in private practice in the Vancouver area, and has served as vice-president and secretary of the B.C. naturopathic licensing body, the Association of Naturopathic Physicians of B.C. (now the College of Naturopathic Physicians of B.C.)..
Mason Bennett, CA, Treasurer
Having a Naturopath as a father (Peter Bennett, ND), Mason has a unique perspective and a great appreciation for the Naturopathic profession and alternative medicine. Mason is a Chartered Accountant at MacKay LLP, helping private companies navigate their financial responsibilities and goals. He brings a strong business and financial background to the Board
William Robinson, PEng, MBA, Secretary
Bill Robinson has been a proponent of naturopathic and traditional medicine for 25 years and was very supportive of his daughter's choice to study at the Boucher Institute. (Nicole graduated in 2006.) Robinson is a professional engineer with an extensive background in consulting on research and development incentives, company management, telecommunications, marketing and human resources. He is owner and CEO of Research Support Services Inc., which develops software tools for research support systems. Robinson brings 40+ years of entrepreneurial and business experience to the board.
Guru Sandesh Khalsa, ND, President
Prior to his appointment with the Boucher Institute, Khalsa was Dean of the College of Naturopathic Medicine at the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and served at the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregon for 22 years in a variety of capacities, including interim president, chief academic officer, full-time faculty member and clinical supervisor.
Patricia Wolfe, ND, President Emeritus
Dr. Patricia Wolfe is president emeritus of the Boucher Institute and was executive director and president of the society from 2002 to 2009 and acting CEO from 2010 to 2011. During her tenure, Wolfe was honoured to lead the Boucher Institute team that grew the fledgling school from 15 founding students and a handful of staff to a CNME-accredited four year cohort at maximum capacity, with ancillary programs and strategic goals. She received her ND from the Ontario (now Canadian) College of Naturopathic Medicine, practiced for nearly 20 years and served as a clinic supervisor, research director and chief research supervisor at OCNM (1988-1990).
Nik Vizniak, DC, Faculty Representative
Dr. Vizniak is the Chair of Physical Medicine at the Boucher Institute. The faculty representative is voted onto the board by the faculty association and serves for a one year term.
Hayley Owens, Student Representative
Hayley Owens is the voice of Boucher students on the board, ensuring that their needs are being considered and that they help shape the school's policies and goals. The student representative is elected by the entire student body and serves for one academic year.
Kevin R. Nolan MD, ND
Dr. Kevin Nolan is a British medical doctor trained in primary care and later paediatrics, who has practiced family medicine in Vancouver and rural areas of B.C. for 40 years. He is a founding member of the Boucher Institute board (1999-2005) and has been involved with the school in various capacities since its inception.
