Bursaries
Boucher Institute Entrance Bursary - September Intake

Number of bursaries: Unlimited
Value of bursaries: Up to $6,000 total available
Eligibility: All first year students are eligible for the award. Advanced standing and transfer students are not eligible.
Criteria: By application and based on a needs assessment by the Admissions Committee. Please complete the application form below (application instructions can be found on the form).
Application deadline: September 16, 2013
Bursary decision deadline: October 16, 2013
Bursary will be credited to the 2nd tuition payment due in February 2013. Recipients must be in good academic standing in the program to receive the tuition credit.

The Dr. Gregory Wayne Prytula Memorial Bursary - Year One

Value of bursary: $600
Eligibility: All new students registered in Year One of the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program for the 2012/2013 academic year.
Criteria: Applicants must demonstrate financial need and submit an essay (not to exceed 1,200 words) describing what they have sacrificed to join the naturopathic profession.

The Dr. Michael A. Prytula, ND Bursary - Year Two

Number of bursaries: 1
Value of bursary: $700
Eligibility: Any student registered in Year Two of the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program for the 2012/2013 academic year.
Criteria: Awarded to the student who most successfully balances volunteer work, employment and student life. Applicants must submit an essay not to exceed 1200 words to describe how they did this.

The Dr. Michael A. Prytula, ND Bursary - Year Three

Number of bursaries: 1
Value of bursary: $800
Eligibility: Any student registered in Year Three of the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program for the 2012/2013 academic year.
Criteria: Awarded to the student who most successfully mastered the language of naturopathic modalities. Applicants must submit an essay (not to exceed 1,200 words).

The Dr. Michael A. Prytula, ND Bursary - Year Four

Value of scholarship: $900
Eligibility: Any student registered in Year Four of the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program for the 2012/2013 academic year.
Criteria: Awarded to the student who has educated himself/herself in therapies beyond the required courses at the Boucher Institute that will expand his/her scope of practice. Applicants must submit an essay not to exceed 1,200 words.

Eligibility: All first year students are eligible for the award. Advanced standing and transfer students are not eligible.
Criteria: Entrance scholarships are offered to top-ranking applicants who score high in the admissions interview or scored high on other admissions criteria. The Admissions Committee considers all eligible applicants for non-renewable entrance scholarships. An entrance scholarship is typically offered with an offer of admission into the program; however some candidates may receive an entrance scholarship after enrolment.

Through her wisdom, compassion and dedication, Dr. Wolfe has helped to create a community of contemplative and self-reflective leaders and healers. As a tribute to her enduring legacy at this institution, the Dr. Patricia Wolfe Scholarship will be awarded to another individual who embodies the principles of naturopathic medicine within our community.
Eligibility: All first year students are eligible for the award. Advanced standing and transfer students are not eligible.
Criteria: The scholarship will be awarded to one of the top five ranked candidates, once full cohort is registered. The Admissions Committee will vote on which candidate best embodies the principles of naturopathic medicine within our community.

Ken Waldron Scholarship

Eligibility: Open to all registered Boucher Institute students
Procedure: Submit a description of the research project/initiative in no more than three pages that includes:
- A clear description of the project/initiative.
- Who will benefit from it and in what ways.
- State dates, deadlines and events clearly.
- Specify the total cost of the project/initiative and each of its components, if applicable.
- Present a clear argument as to why the Awards Committee at BINM should consider to acknowledge/support this project/initiative with the presentation of the Ken Waldron Award.
Criteria: Awarded for the best research project/initiative by a Boucher Institute student currently enrolled in the program.

Dr. Nicole Robinson Scholarship

Value of scholarship: $5,000
Eligibility: The purpose of the Dr. Nicole Robinson Award is to establish one annual award for a 4th yr. student enrolled in the Naturopathic Medicine Program at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in the year 2012-2013
Criteria: The $5,000 award will be granted on the basis of the following criteria:
- Demonstrated financial need.
- Academic standing.
- Participation in the Boucher community.
